We are a UK-based online-only supplier of takeaway food packaging, drink packaging, and disposable catering supplies. We serve restaurants, takeaways, cafés, bakeries, dessert shops, salad bars, juice and milkshake bars, dark kitchens, and catering teams.

You order online for delivery across the UK. UK Mainland delivery is typically 1 working day on eligible orders. Scottish Highlands & Islands are typically 1–3 working days, and Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are typically 2–3 working days. Delivery options are confirmed at checkout.

Delivery and ordering

Please read these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy carefully before using Smart Food Packaging (the “Website”). By accessing the Website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this Website.

Part A: Terms & Conditions

1) Business identity

Smart Food Packaging is a trading name of Supply Express Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company Registration No: 07113263, VAT Registration No: GB989574828).

All orders and payments placed on this Website are processed by Supply Express Ltd.

2) Definitions

  • Business Day: Monday to Friday excluding UK Bank Holidays.
  • UK Mainland: England, Wales and mainland Scotland (excluding Scottish Highlands & Islands).
  • Consumer: an individual buying wholly or mainly for personal use (not for business, trade, craft or profession).
  • Business Customer: any buyer purchasing for business purposes.

3) Using the Website

You must not misuse this Website (including attempting unauthorised access, introducing malicious code, or using abusive language). We may suspend or terminate access where misuse occurs.

4) Product information and images

Product descriptions, pack quantities and specifications are provided in good faith. Minor variations may occur due to manufacturer updates or batch differences. Product images are for illustration only. They may not fully match the item you receive. Colors may differ due to screen settings. 

5) Prices, VAT and payment

Prices displayed on the Website are the prices at the time you place your order. Unless stated otherwise, prices are shown excluding VAT. VAT will be added at checkout at the applicable rate.

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Orders will not be dispatched until payment has been received and approved (including any fraud-prevention checks where applicable). We do not store full payment card details.

6) Orders and contract

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase goods. An order confirmation email confirms receipt of your order, but it does not mean your order has been accepted.

Your order is accepted (and a contract is formed) when we dispatch the goods and send a dispatch confirmation.

If a product is incorrectly priced or described, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you in full, or contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the corrected price/description.

7) Stock and back orders

If an item is not in stock, we may place it on back order and dispatch when available, offer a suitable alternative, or offer you the option to cancel. Where relevant, we will contact you by email with the available options.

8) Delivery charges

Free delivery is available on UK Mainland orders over £100 (excluding VAT). Free delivery does not apply to the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey/Channel Islands or other offshore isles.

*To qualify for free UK Mainland delivery, your order total must be £100 excluding VAT.

9) Delivery service

Order cut-off: Orders placed before 15:00 (Mon–Fri) are processed the same day where possible (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

Delivery timeframes shown above are estimates (not guarantees) and may vary by postcode, courier capacity, weather, seasonal demand, or other events outside our control.

It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available to receive the delivery. Couriers deliver to the property threshold (door) only.

No deliveries will be made on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and UK Bank Holidays.

All services are trackable. If you contact us, we can provide tracking details for your parcel.

10) Courier claims and reporting issues

If any parcel appears damaged, it must be signed for as “Damaged”. Do not sign parcels as “Unchecked” as this may affect claims.

Please report any issues with your order as soon as possible and ideally within 48 hours of receipt.

Couriers (including DPD and DHL) may not accept claims raised more than 14 days after delivery. Therefore, if you have any delivery issue (damage, missing cartons, wrong items, etc.), you must email us within 13 days of delivery so we can investigate and submit a claim where applicable.

11) Refused deliveries

If an order is refused because the driver will not carry items beyond the threshold, the order may be treated as not accepted by you. You may be liable for return postage and a £25 administration fee, as the delivery company has fulfilled their contract and you have not accepted delivery.

12) Returns, cancellations and refunds

12.1 Consumers

If you are a Consumer buying online, you may have a legal right to cancel within 30 days after receiving goods (subject to legal exceptions). Your statutory rights as a Consumer are not affected by these Terms.

12.2 Business Customers (trade orders)

If you are a Business Customer and you change your mind, ordered the wrong items, or no longer want the order, you must request a return within 30 days of delivery.

For non-defective goods returned by a Business Customer within 14 days of delivery, we will refund the product price paid minus a 20% re-stocking administration fee. Delivery charges are not refundable once goods have been dispatched.

If your order includes a small order charge, this will not be included as part of the refund.

12.3 Return conditions

Where items are returned, they must be:

  • Unopened and unused
  • In their original packaging
  • Returned in full pack quantities (no part packs)

We cannot offer refunds for partial packs returned or for items returned in an unsaleable condition.

12.4 Incorrect items sent by us

If any item is sent by mistake by us, we will cover return costs for the incorrect item and the delivery charges for sending the correct items to you.

12.5 Faulty or defective goods

If goods are faulty, damaged, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible. We will inspect returned goods. If a defect is identified, you will be given the option of a replacement at no additional cost or a refund for the defective goods, subject to inspection. This does not affect your statutory rights as a Consumer.

12.6 Return process (all customers)

Do not return any products without our prior approval. Please email info@smartfoodpackaging.co.uk with your order number and details. We will provide return approval and the correct return address by email. Returns sent without approval may not be accepted.

Please obtain proof of postage/courier receipt when returning items.

13) Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation).

Subject to the above, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, or business interruption arising out of the use of the Website or goods supplied. Our liability for any claim shall be limited to the value of the goods in question.

14) Title (ownership)

Title (ownership) of goods passes to you only upon full payment of the goods, including all relevant taxes and delivery costs.

15) Intellectual property

The Website and its content are owned by or licensed to Supply Express Ltd and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may copy and print portions of the Website only for the purpose of placing an order or purchasing products from us. Any other use is prohibited without written permission.

16) Force majeure

We shall have no liability for any failure or delay in supply or delivery caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, courier network disruption, industrial action, fire, flood, terrorism, or other unforeseen events.

17) Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you agree that all disputes arising out of or relating to this Website will be decided by the courts of England and Wales.

Shipping, Returns & Cancellations

Please read these Shipping, Returns and Cancellations terms before using Smart Food Packaging (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing this website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use this website.

These terms apply to all customers. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit any statutory rights where applicable.

1) Delivery service standard

We aim to deliver most orders within the delivery timeframes shown below once cleared payment is received. These timeframes are targets and are not guaranteed. No specific delivery time is stipulated.

2) Order cut-off time

Order cut-off: Orders placed before 15:00 (Mon–Fri) are processed the same day where possible (excluding weekends and bank holidays). Delivery timeframes are estimates and may be affected by courier capacity, seasonal demand, stock movements, weather, and other factors outside our control.

3) Saturday delivery

Saturday delivery may be available at a higher cost. you can search Saturday in our website and add it to your basket we will aim to dispatch your order using a suitable Saturday service booked with our chosen courier.

Saturday delivery is a courier-provided service. Once your order has been handed to the courier, delivery on Saturday becomes the courier’s responsibility. We cannot guarantee Saturday delivery or be held responsible for courier delays, routing changes, or service disruptions.

4) Our couriers

We use third-party couriers of our choice (including DPD and DHL). Courier selection may change at any time without notice. Once your order is with the courier, we have limited control over handling, delivery routes, and delivery times.

5) Delivery options and charges

Free delivery is available on UK Mainland orders over £100 (excluding VAT). “UK Mainland” means England, Wales and mainland Scotland (excluding the Scottish Highlands & Islands).

Free delivery does not apply to the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey / Channel Islands or other offshore/remote areas.

Where applicable, additional parcel charges may apply if a shipment exceeds standard courier limits. Any additional courier charges must be paid before we can dispatch your order.

6) Bank holidays and seasonal closures

No deliveries will be made on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, or UK Bank Holidays.

7) Tracking

All deliveries are trackable. Tracking details are available on request. Please email info@smartfoodpackaging.co.uk with your order number.

8) Customer availability and correct address

It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available to receive delivery and that you provide a complete, accurate and accessible delivery address, including correct postcode, business name (if applicable), unit number, and any required access details.

If you provide an incorrect or incomplete address, or fail to make reasonable arrangements for receipt, any extra delivery fees incurred must be paid by you before we can re-dispatch or complete delivery.

You are responsible for responding promptly to courier emails, delivery cards, calls, or location requests if the courier cannot locate you or you are not in. Failure to respond may result in an unsuccessful delivery and return.

Where a delivery is unsuccessful and goods are returned to us for reasons within your control (including, but not limited to, no-one available, incorrect address, refused delivery without valid reason, or failure to respond to courier contact attempts), we may process a refund minus the costs already incurred. These costs can include (but are not limited to) outbound delivery charges, return-to-sender courier charges, and warehouse handling/admin charges.

9) Stock availability, back orders and alternatives

Stock levels may change quickly due to demand. If an item you ordered is not in stock, we may:

  • dispatch your order when the item is back in stock, and/or
  • provide an estimated delivery date, and/or
  • offer a suitable alternative where available.

You will be given the option to cancel if you do not accept the revised delivery date or alternative.

10) Order cancellations

To cancel your order, you must inform us as soon as possible by emailing info@smartfoodpackaging.co.uk. We may be able to cancel an order only if it has not been picked, processed, or dispatched.

Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation is not guaranteed. If we agree to cancel after dispatch, any costs already incurred may be deducted from your refund, including outbound delivery costs and return-to-sender courier fees.

11) Order changes

To maintain order accuracy and warehouse efficiency, we do not guarantee the ability to modify orders after they have been placed. Where possible, we may cancel the original order so you can place a new order correctly.

Returns Policy

1) Returns window

Return requests must be made within 28 days after delivery. Requests made after this period may not be accepted.

2) Return condition requirements

Returns must be unopened, unused, complete, and in their original packaging where applicable. Goods must be returned in full pack quantities. We do not accept partial pack returns.

We do not accept returns and will not issue refunds for goods that are damaged, used, incomplete, or not in a re-saleable condition.

3) Change of mind returns (costs and deductions)

Where a return is accepted due to change of mind, returns are at the customer’s expense and you agree that we may deduct costs already incurred, including outbound delivery charges and any return/collection fees charged to us by the courier.

If we arrange collection for your return, the collection fee will be confirmed by email before booking.

4) Defective goods

If goods are confirmed as defective following inspection, we will offer, at our discretion, a replacement or a refund for the defective goods. Refunds are typically processed within 4–7 working days after confirmation.

5) Unsuccessful collections

If a return collection is booked and the driver cannot collect the items for reasons within your control (including no-one available, items not ready, or access issues), the courier may charge for the failed collection attempt. You will be responsible for any unsuccessful collection fees and any re-booking fees. These may be deducted from your refund.

6) Proof of return

Please obtain and retain proof of return from the delivery service. We are not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit back to us.

7) Refused deliveries

Refusing delivery is not an accepted cancellation method. If goods are returned to us due to refusal without valid reason, any refund may be subject to deductions for outbound delivery charges, return/collection fees, and warehouse handling/admin costs.
